Preparing for a Life Event: Are You and Your Documents Ready?
Do you know what documents are important to have if something unexpected happens to you or a loved one? Are those documents accessible, updated, and adequate to help those affected by the event? Would your loved ones know what to do, who to contact or where to look for this information if something happens to you? Karen Smith of Money Mentor Group, LLC will share her first-hand knowledge on the importance of being prepared for a Life Event, which includes having the right documents in place, reviewing them to make sure they are adequate, and having them organized and accessible to loved ones, which can help make an emotional situation a little easier to get through.
Facilitator: Karen Smith is a certified Life Coach and co-owner of Money Mentor Group, LLC. Her husband’s sudden and unexpected death before the age of 50 made her realize that even though they were knowledgeable about finances, they were not prepared for this unexpected Life Event. That experience led her to author her book, “I Didn’t See That Coming!” which includes worksheets and an easy 4-step process to organize, record, review and store the important legal, financial and insurance documents that have a significant impact on the after-effects of a Life Event.
Karen has spoken at various venues in the DC metro area, including Maryland Women’s Conference and Maryland Society of Accountants.
